Fast and slow effective waves across dilute random distributions of elastic spheres in a poroelastic medium

چکیده
A dilute random distribution of identical elastic spheres in a poroelastic isotropic matrix obeying Biot’s theory is considered. Using Luppe, Conoir and Norris (LCN) multiple scattering formula up to the corrective second order term concentration, approximations are sought low frequency domain (Rayleigh limit) for fast slow effective wavenumbers. The contribution – which contains coupling (i.e. mode conversions) between fast, shear waves accounts discussed. Considering wavenumbers, some quantities (bulk modulus, mass density diffusion coefficient) estimated.

Effective equations governing an active poroelastic medium
In this work, we consider the spatial homogenization of a coupled transport and fluid-structure interaction model, to the end of deriving a system of effective equations describing the flow, elastic deformation and transport in an active poroelastic medium. The 'active' nature of the material results from a morphoelastic response to a chemical stimulant, in which the growth time scale is strong...
متن کاملElastic string in a random medium.
We consider a one-dimensional elastic string as a set of massless beads interacting through springs characterized by anisotropic elastic constants. The string, driven by an external force, moves in a medium with quenched disorder. We find that longitudinal fluctuations lead to nonlinear behavior in the equation of motion that is kinematically generated by the motion of the string. The strength ...

the speech act of disagreement has been one of the speech acts that has received the least attention in the field of pragmatics. this study investigates the ways power relations, social distance, formality of the context, gender, and language proficiency (for efl learners) influence disagreement and politeness strategies. the participants of the study were 200 male and female native persian s...

The present study concerns the dynamic radiation force on solid elastic spheres exerted by a plane wave with two frequencies (bichromatic wave) considering the nonlinearity of the fluid. Our approach is based on solving the wave scattering for the sphere in the quasilinear approximation within the preshock wave range. The dynamic radiation force is then obtained by integrating the component of ...
متن کاملPartially Saturated Flow in a Poroelastic Medium
The formulation and existence theory is presented for a system modeling diffusion of a slightly compressible fluid through a partially saturated poroelastic medium. Nonlinear effects of density, saturation, porosity and permeability variations with pressure are included, and the seepage surface is determined by a variational inequality on the boundary.
